Our Colorful Harvest
coolers and packing facilities are located near our farms to assure cooling and packing of the crop within minutes of harvest. That means
better quality, longer shelf life, and greater customer satisfaction. And because this sometimes allows longer ripening in the field,
we can hit the optimum
harvest windows for the best tasting products.
The new 32,000 square foot Colorful Harvest cooler in Salinas, Califorina opened for operations in April 2009 in time to handle the peak of the company’s Salinas valley spring berry crop. This state of the art forced air facility brings a number of advantages to the Colorful Harvest, Salinas Valley operations including:
- Larger holding capacity
- The latest technology in forced air cooling
- 12 loading bays
- On-site packaging make up and storage
- Rapid cold chain management process
- Continued compliance with Colorful Harvest’s strict food safety protocols
The consolidation of cold storage and packaging functions will benefit Colorful Harvest’s growers, while transportation providers will benefit from improved traffic flow, accessibility, and visibility.
